What are FCE, CAE and BEC exams?

FCE (First Certificate in English) represents the upper intermediate level of the Cambridge English language exam. On the scale of the Common Framework of the Council of Europe, it is marked B2. Passing this exam and obtaining a certificate confirms that the candidate has sufficient language competencies in all four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. By mastering these skills, the candidate can navigate English-speaking countries and can accurately understand and provide information in English. Possession of the FCE certificate is necessary for employment and study in certain study programs throughout Europe and the world. After taking the FCE exam, you can focus on mastering higher levels of English and taking the CAE exam.

CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) represents a high level of English language proficiency. On the scale of the Common Framework of the Council of Europe, it represents the mastered C1 level. It represents the first of the two highest levels of the Cambridge exams. Possession of this certificate is proof that the candidate has extensive knowledge of English that meets the high standards expected of professionals in the business world or, on the other hand, from students in academic environment. The CAE certificate gives candidates an advantage when applying for a job in various global companies, as well as students who want to start or continue their studies abroad, as it is recognized by all the world’s leading universities.
BEC (Business English Certificate) represents the level of knowledge of English in the field of business. There are three levels of BEC certification and these are Preliminary, Vantage and Higher level. Preliminary corresponds to level B according to the scale of the Common Framework of the Council of Europe, Vantage is equal to B2 level, while BEC Higher certificate corresponds to C1 level. During this preparatory course, participants are trained to master the skills of negotiation, telephoning, giving presentations and writing reports in English. BEC certificates at all levels are internationally recognized by employers and educational institutions.

Before the start of the course, participants take a test to determine their level of English proficiency.

The textbooks used during the course are specially adapted and intended to prepare students for the internationally recognized FCE, CAE and BEC exams.

In addition to textbooks, audio materials are used in order for students to master the material as successfully as possible and reach the top level of knowledge of English that they need to obtain a certificate.

Classes are held in small mentoring groups that allow maximum progress of all participants in the group.

Classes are taught by highly educated professionals with many years of experience in preparing candidates for the Cambridge English exam.

Each student can expect an individual approach and absolute motivation from the professor from Serendipity Foreign Language Centre.

In accordance with the needs and requirements of the FCE and CAE exams, the main emphasis is placed on improving language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as the inevitable practice of grammar, which meets the necessary prerequisite for obtaining a certificate.
